5 hours 5 minutes agoThree of Burma's newest politicians have been in Australia to take part in a training course for political advisors.
The three were among 27 members of the National League for Democracy which swept the country's recent by-elections.
Pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi hand-picked the three - Zeyar Thaw, Sandar Min and Phyo Min Thein - to attend the University of Sydney course.
Phyo Min Thein says the one-week course has been extremely valuable.
"I am amazed at the relevance and effectiveness of the course," he said.
"I will request Australia to make such courses available to all politicians in Burma regardless of which party they belong to.
The newly trained politicians will join their newly-sworn-in colleagues in parliament for the first time on their return to Burma.byRadio Australia News
