BURMESE pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi (right) is to visit Ireland next month on her first trip abroad in 24 years.
Ms Suu Kyi has recently taken a seat in the Burmese parliament following years of house arrest over her outspoken opposition to the country's military junta.
Her first stop will be Norway, where she will officially accept a Nobel Peace Prize awarded to her more in 1991.
She will visit Ireland at the invitation of Bill Shipsey, the founder of Art for Amnesty, a global art programme attached to Amnesty International.
